Eco-friendly LEDs get the Green Light

Eco-friendly LEDs get the Green Light
January 24, 2014

Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort is making the switch to 'green lighting'.

Energy-efficient bulbs are currently being installed throughout the resort as part of the team's commitment to its sound environmental policies.

Several of the accommodation units already have the low energy bulbs installed, and another shipment is due to arrive at the holiday park over the next few days.

Taupo DeBretts owner Barry Kirkland is working with several suppliers and says the site-wide switch to eco-friendly bulbs represents huge energy savings.

He says while guests will enjoy the same level of illumination inside their accommodation units, they can expect to be impressed by the coloured LED lights that are being installed throughout the holiday park and hot springs to highlight the area's well-established trees and geothermal features.

Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort holds a Qualmark Enviro Gold Award, which is awarded to businesses that exceed the highest levels of environmental and social responsibilities, and represent strong leadership and advocacy.
