Te Hokinga mai ki te Wai (Return to the water) Waka Festival

Taupō Waka Ama and the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board invite you to: Get up to five workmates, friends or whānau (minimum of two women and two men per team) together and get on the water with us. Taupō Waka Ama will provide the steerer for a 3.5km course for teams, or, you enter the 6.7km course for small boats (if you want to race your own).

Entry cost $150 per team or $20 per small boat.

There will be three races:

Race 1: Small Boats (Any small boat SUP, Waka, Kayak, Surf Surf ski etc) - 1 Race Final.

Race 2: High School teams - 1 Race Final.

Race 3: Main Event - Adult teams*

*All teams entered in the main event will have 2 races. Drinks and prize giving for the main event will be held in the Taupō Yacht Club after the event approximately around 6pm. This is a fun event for the community, marae, local organisations, friends and whānau. Bring a tent, some kai and come down to the lake to support your teams completing in this event.]
