Ahhhhhh…. the unmistakable natural properties of the Taupo DeBretts hot springs. With two huge mineral pools set amongst beautiful landscaped resort surroundings, it’s the perfect spot to relax and soothe tired aching muscles.

Hot Springs at night Taupo is one of New Zealand’s most active thermal regions, and DeBretts enjoys a prime location at a natural ‘hot spot’ – a geothermal spring known as Onekeneke. For more than a century, people have flocked here to partake in its famous relaxation and medicinal benefits. At Taupo DeBretts, we cool the way-too-hot volcanic waters down to a far more inviting temperature range of 38 to 42°C (100 to 108°F), all the while preserving the abundance of health-enriching mineral components.

As well as the main pools (complete with waterfall and bubbling hydrotherapy spots) we also offer 12 private mineral pools – the perfect complement to our Living Waters day spa. And when the weather gets warmer, the Lake Taupo region comes alive with holidaymakers seeking to cool off. Here again, Taupo DeBretts makes a splash with our fresh water pool and spa, interactive water play area, BBQ & picnic facilities, and let’s not forget our ever-popular dragon water slide!

I stayed at Taupo DeBretts with my 81 year old mother for 3 days. We had the best holiday. My mum lives in Lower Hutt so I came over to take her for away for her birthday as she recently went blind. The people were so helpful and friendly to myself and Mum. Mum had a manicure and pedicure which she loved. The hot pools were just what we both needed and the one bedroon motel was exactly what we needed - peaceful, quiet and comfortable. Lorraine who worked at the hot pools was tremendous and desearves a big thank you. She went above and beyond to assist me with mum and I thank her. I cannot wait to come back to NZ and bring mum and more of my family for another stay. Thanks Taupo De Bretts.
